Takin the back seat out to get to the strut towers

  • Takin the back seat out to get to the strut towers
  • Strut's out. Oh yeah rear drum brakes on a 2004 model year car, good job Ford.

  • I replaced all 4 inboard rear multi-link control arm bushings, which were originally regular, non adjustable rubber twist bushings, with offset, adjustable Delrin bushings. I'm not nuts about the fact that I now have not-easily-greasable, hard bushings on a passenger car, but this is the only way to make rear toe and camber adjustable on the Gen 3 and 4 Taurus (Tauri?)
  • SHOsource 23mm urethane sway bar bushing. Edit 1.26.2010 these things make SO MUCH NOISE when the sway bar articulates even though I greased the bar with clear/white thick silicone brake parts grease. Noooooooo... the only problem with this whole project
  • These things are very hard and were NOT easy to stretch over the new rear sway bar. Almost lost some fingers
  • Rear 23mm SHO sway bar loosely bolted up. My 2004 Taurus did not come with a rear sway bar at all so this big rear bar will be a huge improvement
  • Sway bar installed but brackets and end links mocked up loose.
  • Sway bar bushings all tightened into place

  • Not nuts about the fact that the Ingalls rear sway bar end link does not even use a grade 5 bolt (307A home depot style bolt, not so sure about that....)
  • I even have my own steering wheel holder now (I do my own 4 wheel alignments at home)
